The hero of Russiagate regains favor in the intel community
Former NSA head Mike Rogers was my hero during the Russia “collusion” saga. No, I’m not really into hero worship. Actually, not at all. But Mike Rogers was a special dude … then.
Long time followers, way back in the pre-Substack days, will recall how Rogers was the unsung hero in the days following Trump’s election. It was Rogers who tipped Trump in a secret 1-1 visit soon after Trump’s election that Trump Tower was bugged. Rogers’ secret visit to inform Trump caused an immediate move of Trump’s transition HQ from Trump Tower to Bedminster, NJ, site of the Trump National Golf Club.
In a career-limiting move, Rogers didn’t inform Dir of National Intelligence head James Clapper, his superior, of his trip to meet 1-1 with Trump. Clapper, John Brennan (CIA) and even DoD secretary Ash Carter urged Obama to fire Rogers for his transgression. They were pissed that Rogers had done it again.
Again?
Some time before Trump came down that escalator to declare his candidacy for President, NSA Director Admiral Mike Rogers noted unusual actions with regard to database queries of NSA data. Data that should be protected by FISA Section 702 provisions regarding the access to such data.
In a nutshell, 702 requires FISA (Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act) court approval to access information about Americans vacuumed up by NSA. Suffice it to say that NSA has a whole lot of info on you and me, and 702 is meant to tightly control access to that information.
Well, we know how that goes. In the hands of nefarious fascists like those in the Obama administration such data is catnip.
Rogers noted that a shitload of data was being accessed. A whole lot of data. WAY too much data. So he tipped off the FISA court and shut down a massive domestic surveillance program.
For these actions, Admiral Mike Rogers was — was — truly a hero. The balls on that guy. A true white knight!!
Then there’s this recent, distressing news. Admiral Mike Rogers has joined with subhuman Intel Community miscreants — including James Clapper, the lowest form of low-life in that community — in a letter supporting the continued efforts, in close association with Big Tech, to further stifle free speech and to declare as “misinformation” views that run against the Approved Narrative.
The pretext now is Ukraine-Ukraine-Ukraine, of course, having advanced as a species from Russia-Russia-Russia.
Et tu, Rogers?
God. Mike Morell? That lying SOB. Leon Penetta, that Clinton-loving worthless scumbag? J-A-M-E-S C-L-A-P-P-E-R? This is a who’s who of lying creeps — the very types that would sign a letter indicating that Hunter’s laptop was likely a Russian disinfo campaign.
Oh my, how far you’ve fallen, Admiral Mike Rogers.
